On the Verge

From February to May 2023 I spent time documenting and following a verger who worked at St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral, Edinburgh.

The role of the verger is to care for and maintain the cathedral, as well as taking part in certain ceremonies. This project aims to provide a slightly different way of viewing the cathedral and to shine a light on what often goes unseen.

This work was exhibited in the cathedral as part of the Fringe Festival in August 2023.
